Common Issues


My recording is blank / silent

Most likely you didn't merge your calls. You have to merge 414-9-RECORD into the call so it can hear the conversation.

My caller ID is blocked

You need to enable caller ID to use our service. On iPhones you can do this under Settings > Phone > Show My Caller ID.

I've tried that already...

Send us a message below with your phone number and the date/time you called (with your time zone). Sometimes phone numbers get malformed by carriers and cause errors.

I can't merge or add calls

There are 2 common reasons why:

  1. You've got a weak signal. You can't make 2 simultanious calls if your signal strength is too low.
  2. Your carrier doesn't allow 3-way calling. Often times you just need to contact them to get it enabled.

Do my recordings expire?

Unlocked recordings stay for 1 year, otherwise they're permanently deleted after 5 days.

Do my credits expire?

Yes, after 1 year any unused credits will expire.

Is there a maximum recording length?

Recordings can be up to 1 hour. If you pass 60 minutes, the recording line will drop off the call - but you can just merge it in again to continue recording. Most phones will play a triple beep notification, only heard by you, when a party disconnects.

Does this work internationally?

Maybe - if you can make international calls you can merge our USA phone number into your calls to record them. You'll probably need to use the full country code when dialing (+14149RECORD).

Can I spoof my caller ID?

Not with us, sorry.

Can I record FaceTime or Facebook Messenger calls?

Nope, sorry.

Does this work on landlines?

Only if it's a special VoIP landline that can receive text messages.
